The Achievements and Steps for the Future Assessment Meeting which was carried out within the scope of the TWIN Project was held on 22 October 2020 in Ankara with the participation of the representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, Central Finance and Contracts Unit, Union of Municipalities of Turkey, Union of Provinces, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization Directorate General for Local Administrations, Delegation of European Union to Turkey and Marmara Union of Municipalities and United Nations Development Program. In addition, a total of 115 online participants, including TWIN Project grant beneficiaries, participated in the meeting via internet-based software.
General Secretary of Union of Municipalities of Turkey Mr. Birol EKİCİ, Delegation of European Union to Turkey Head of the Department of Trade and Other EU Policies Mr. Bartosz PRZYWARA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs General Director of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation Mr. Bülent ÖZCAN made the opening speeches of the Achievements and Steps for the Future Assessment Meeting.
Consisting of two separate sessions, Achievements and Steps for the Future Assessment Meeting continued under the moderation of Mr. A. Hakan ATİK, Head of the Project Implementation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs. In the first session themed "the Future of Town Twinning" which was carried out via the internet-based software, General Secretary of Marmara Union of Municipalities Mr. M. Cemil Arslan and Turkey United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative Mr. Claudio Tomasi participated as panelists.
In the second session of the meeting, the achievements of the TWIN Project and opportunities for the future were discussed. After the Technical Assistance Team provided information about the implementation period of the project, the meeting ended with representatives of the institutions providing their views on the process and evaluating the project activities.
