The third of ‘Capacity Building Training in the Field of Town Twinning’ was held between 18-21 June 2019 in İstanbul.
‘Capacity Building Training in the Field of Town Twinning’, organized with the aim to increase administrative capacities throughout the process of accession to the European Union was launched on Tuesday, June 18 with the opening speech of A. Hakan Atik, Head of Department of Project Implementation, Directorate for EU Affairs.
Participants were informed on the following issues: Professor Dr. Birgül Demirtaş on ‘Institutional Framework of Town Twinning’ and ‘Learning from Each Other’, Fikret Toksöz on ‘Town Twinning with a particular focus on the EU Accession’, Sinan Özden on ‘Thematic Approach to Town Twinning’ and ‘Capacity Building for Town Twinning’, Metehan Gültaşlı on ‘Involving Key Stakeholders’ and İpek Kovancı on ‘Sources of Funds for Town Twinning’. The four-day training program closed as participants received their certificates of attendance.
