On the fifth and last day of the study visit to Belgium and The Netherlands within the scope of Town Twinning between Turkey and the EU (TWIN) Project, the study visit team was visited VNG International, which is the International Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities and which is a specialised organisation in strengthening local authorities in developing countries and countries in transition. During the last visit of the programme, the study visit team was informed on the efforts to reduce climate change, prevent rapid urban population growth, promote local economic development through public and private partnerships, increase employment opportunities, prevent disaster and cooperate with various stakeholders to ensure access by local authorities to information.
With this visit on the fifth day of the programme, the study visit to Belgium and The Netherlands within the scope of the TWIN Project, which was prepared to enhance the knowledge and experience of the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, the Union of Provinces, General Directorate for Local Authorities of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation and the representatives of local authorities coming from different provinces in Turkey with respect to town twinning was concluded.
