The first of capacity building training programmes in the field of EU Acquis chapters was delivered on 11-14 September 2018 in Ankara within the scope of “Town Twinning between Turkey and the EU Project (TWIN)” which aims to increase administrative capacity during the EU accession process.
The training was opened by Mr. Bülent Özcan, Head of Project Implementation of Directorate of EU Affairs.
Four-day training was completed with the presentations of Prof. Birgül Demirtaş, Prof. Sanem Baykal, Assoc. Prof. Gamze Öz, Volkan Topçu, Fikret Toksöz and Sadun Emrealp who acts as the Team Leader of the Project.
During the training held with around 65 participants, following topics were addressed:
• Overview of the EU Acquis,
• Current framework for localising the EU Acquis chapters,
• Harmonisation activities by local authorities in selected EU Acquis chapters,
• Perspectives on EU Acquis in TNA and main headings from the analysis related to the implementation of the EU Acquis at local level,
• Capacity building for localising EU Acquis chapters,
• Raising awareness of EU accession process among citizens .
The training was concluded with the Certificate Ceremony with participation of Mr. Bülent ÖZCAN.
