Objective of the Projects 

•To improve the administrative and implementation capacity of Konak Municipality in the EU Accession process by means of increased democratic participation, 
•To contribute improvement of a cultural dialogue by introducing novel methods for effective communication.

Activities / Outputs

•A training of trainers programme on “Nonviolent Communication and Democracy” will be organised in Turkey and Romania for thirty participants from Konak Municipality and Şiddetsiz İletişim Derneği (Association of Nonviolent Communication) along with the assistance of Romanian project stakeholders. 
•The representatives to participate to the training of trainers programme will also participate in developing a training curriculum to be implemented on the same topics in Turkey. An action plan for increasing the level olf local democratic participation will be prepared as a result of these workshops.
•Mutual study visits will be organised between partner municipalities. An agreement on improving democratic participation is expected to be signed between Konak Municipality and Bucharest District 2 City Council. 
•A Democratic Participation Software will be developed to improve democratic participation at local levels. Four short movies will be produced, a website will be published, a conference/closing event will be organised in Izmir at the end of the project as part of the dissemination activities.
