Cosme) Valbom E Jovim-Portugal Campo Aberto – Associação de Defesa do Ambiente (ADA)-Portugal Location(s) of the action: Giresun-Turkey – Gondoma-Portugal Duration: 12 Months Total Budget: 117.871,20 Euro Objective of the Project •To raise awareness on environmental benefits of sorting household wastes at source, •To enhance stakeholder participation on sorting waste at source Activities / Outputs •Project partners will create a sustainable network structure titled ‘Green Schools Network (GSNET)’ for improving the administrative capacity in waste management specifically sort waste at source by carrying out public events including information workshops and congresses within the framework of the waste awareness campaign, and organisation of excursions to landfills and waste stations in the context of peer educations. •Four workshops/congress will be organised in two countries to exchange information and develop a Sort Waste at Source Training curricula. Two set of project introduction panels towards teachers and students on environmental issues and waste sorting practices will be organised at primary schools in Espiye. •A Sort Waste at Source (SWS)’ Training Curricula will be developed and implemented, and an interactive online education portal will be created. Within the framework of the curricula, environmental awareness activities will be organised, and sorting containers will be allocated to each Waste Sorting Clubs (to be established in 10 pilot schools) in Espiye. Within the scope of the Green Flag Peer Training programme, students will be encouraged via ‘sorting waste at source’ competition. Implementation/Monitoring Activities will be carried out in collaboration with these Waste Sorting Clubs in the pilot schools aiming to reach 100 teachers and 1500 student in environmental awareness activities.
