Objective of the Project
•To develop town twinning relations on the basis of sustainable cities concept To take an active role in EU integration process in line with EU acquis and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Activities / Outputs
•An info day meeting will be held to raise awareness of district municipalities in Samsun about EU acquis and UN sustainable development goals.
•Municipal services offered in 17 district municipalities of Samsun will evaluated through such analytic methods as SWOT and a “Samsun Districts Study Report” will be prepared at the end of this study.
•Mutual study visits will be organised between Samsun and Porto in order to share waste management practices and knowledge, and examine new waste management systems.
•A feasibility study will be carried out on sustainable cities, climate change, urban transformation and urban identity. The results will be discussed in a National Sustainable City Workshop with participation of municipalities, relevant public and civil society institutions, universities and other stakeholders.
•An international Sustainable City Conference on waste management will be organised with participation of LIPOR and its 8 municipalities
•The project will be finalised with a closure meeting where the project results will be shared with public.
