Culture and Creativity for Strengthening Cooperation between Kütahya and Pécs Project Reference Number: TTGS/045 Coordinator Beneficiary: Kütahya Municipality Co-Beneficiary(ies): Pécs Municipality – Hungary Kütahya Promotion Foundation (KÜTAV) – Turkey Location(s) of the action: Kütahya/Turkey – Pécs/Hungary Duration: 12 Months Total Budget: 126,602.47 Euro Objective of the Project •To promote technical cooperation and exchange of best practices on formulation of local cultural strategies, •To improve the capacity at the local level in implementation of cultural policies, •To develop policy recommendations on the implementation of Agenda 21 for culture at the local level. Activities / Outputs •Mutual study visits will be made between Kütahya-Turkey and Pécs-Hungary municipalities who are sister cities since 1975 to make SWOT analysis and identify development needs for improved cultural policies. •Roundtable meetings will be held in both cities with participation of Kütahya Culture and Promotion Foundation, universities, chamber of commerce, private sector and NGOs to boost cultural programmes in two sister cities. •Short term and long term local cultural strategies for two cities will be formulated in 3 different dimensions; a Cultural strategy for Kütahya, a Cultural strategy for Pécs and a Joint Cultural Strategy for Sister City Partnerships. •An international workshop on cultural strategies will be organised in Kütahya with the participation of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) representatives, academicians, and representatives of all relevant local stakeholders from Pécs and Kütahya. Studies on raising awareness in the field of cultural cooperation through internet platform, social media accounts and a mobile map application will be conducted A closure meeting will be held in order to share the project results.
