Objective of the Project
•To increase number of energy efficiency applications and popularize environment-friendly practises at Palandöken and Bansko Ski Centres,
•To start a cooperation on winter tourism between Palandöken and Bansko,
•To draw roadmaps regarding use of alternative sources of energy in both ski destinations.
Activities / Outputs
•Competitions will be organised to promote environmental awareness and attract attention to protection of the environment, environmental practices and policies in the ski resorts of Erzurum and Bansko.
•Exchange of experiences meetings between Erzurum and Bansko municipalities will be held in each city during the mutual visits and a cooperation agreement between two winter destination municipalities will be signed.
•Two feasibility studies will be carried out to calculate the costs of solar energy systems and return periods of investments that can be established in Erzurum and Bansko as part of the Research on Energy Practises.
•Meetings in Erzurum and in Bansko will be held to discusse cooperation areas for energy and environment issues between two cities with technical contribution of Northeast Anatolia Development Agency. The ski resorts and renewable energy resource investments in the two regions are going to be examined and a report on cooperation areas will be produced.
•A closing event will be organised in Erzurum to share the results of the feasibility studies and project activities. The meeting in this event will be streamed live for a wider audience.
