Objective of the Project
•To develop capacity to mainstream gender equality criteria into climate policies and projects
•To encourage a dialogue and knowledge exchange between local policy makers and representatives of women’s organizations and groups
Activities / Outputs
•A roundtable meeting in Ankara and Frankfurt between municipalities will be held to provide women participation to environment issues and to develop sustainable relations.
•Energy efficiency training materials such as basic PV solar panels, demos of excess water use in toilet flushes, model of a women friendly street/park/area, model of an energy-free house will be designed/developed to be used for “Climate Friendly Women” training activities.
•A study visit to Frankfurt Municipality will be organised to examine data collection methodology related to climate resilience, participation and organization practices of counterpart municipality.
•8 leading women to be selected by Çankaya Municipality will be meeting with local leaders of Frankfurt to develop a network between CSOs and local governments and determine the framework of a “local participation model” for Çankaya.
•An information seminar will be organised in Ankara with the participation of study visit participants, women and climate CSOs, leading women's organizations, women and climate experts.
•An international conference on Strengthening Women in Climate Change Resistance will be organised in Ankara with collaboration of Middle East Technical University, Women Mukhtars Association and The Nature Conservation Centre.
