Objective of the Project
• Establishing vocational training programs to train qualified personnel to meet the needs of the recycling sector,
• Improving and expanding recycling practices in Silvan.
Activities / Outputs
• A training for trainers programme for twenty seven personnel and participants on “Waste Management” was organized in cooperation with Dicle University Silvan Vocational School.
• An “Environment Week” was organized throughout the district with the participation of Dicle University Silvan Vocational High School students in order to popularize recycling in Silvan.
• Recycling bins were distributed to 250 households and twenty institutions to increase the collection of waste separately in Silvan.
• A corner on environment was established with the library in Silvan Municipality.
• Silvan Municipality visited the Solid Waste Facility established by Krško Municipality and prepared the establishment and operation model and a three-year Waste Management Strategic Plan for the Integrated Solid Waste Facility to be established in Silvan.
• A symposium was held in Diyarbakır where innovative recycling methods were discussed in cooperation with Dicle University.
